Idea Napkin No. 2

  1. I am a very organized and ambitious person. I love getting new projects to work on, and like getting things done. I plan on getting into the art industry because I would like to work for galleries and museums. I don’t see this business idea as being very relevant to what I want to do career-wise, however, since I am just in college right now, it’s something that I would definitely use at this point in my life.
  2. I am offering a scooter rental service that rents scooters to commuting students on a daily/weekly basis. Instead of wasting time trying to park cars on campus or waiting for buses, students will be able to schedule in advance what days they will need the scooter to get to campus. This will ensure a more time efficient way of commuting.
  3. This service would be offered to students and staff who don’t want to waste time searching for on campus parking and/or waiting on buses throughout the day. They would live off campus and have a general dislike for wasting time.
  4. Customers would pay for this service if they wanted a more time efficient way of getting to campus during the week, especially those who genuinely dislike wasting their time commuting, taking the buses, and trying to find parking on campus.
  5. Because I am a very determined person, I am good at tackling new projects and ideas. If there is something that I want to do, I make sure that I do everything I possibly can to make it happen. I am also a “people person.” I am naturally outgoing and I am also good at connecting with people from different backgrounds whether it be social or cultural. This helps me to forge genuine relationships and connections with people.
I believe these elements all fit together pretty well. Whenever you start a new project or business idea, you have to be determined to work through a lot of issues. Like all new businesses, my scooter rental service would definitely have problems here and there. Some feedback I got from my first idea napkin was to consider the fact that I may be able to expand my customer base. Using that, I realized that I could cater this service not only to students, but also to staff members who work on campus and commute as well. Another point of feedback reinforced that the lack of parking on campus is actually a problem that people experience, so that backs up the purpose of my business idea.
