Entrepreneurship Story

Last year I worked as a summer camp counselor for the YMCA in my hometown. All new counselors had to attend training sessions to prepare us before we actually started running the camp. Our training often consisted of playing camp games and going through safety policies, but one time our supervisor gave us an entrepreneurial task to create any ideal item for camp counselors. My partner and I came up with the ultimate backpack which had everything necessary for a day at summer camp, including a first aid pocket, built in fan, built in walkie talkie, and super comfortable straps amongst other features. We did it as a competition against other counselors, and our idea ended up winning. I enrolled in ENT 3003 as I needed to take a business elective and the course description was appealing to me. I've always had an interest in entrepreneurship and was curious to see how this course could help me understand it better.

Bug List

When I'm taking notes by hand during a class lecture, my pen runs out of ink and I have to spend time digging through my backpack to find another pen. Why it exists:  I don't always monitor how low on ink my pens are, so I often get caught off guard when they actually do run out. The line out the door at Tijuana Flats on University Ave. on Tuesdays. Why it exists: Tijuana Flats holds "Tijuana Tuesdays" where you can get two tacos for around five dollars. Lots of people take advantage of this deal and a line ends up forming out the door because of how many people want to get tacos at a cheaper price than normal. People giving cashiers money completely folded up, crumpled, or just thrown on the counter. Why it exists: People are often in a hurry while making purchases and grab whatever cash they have on hand, whether it is folded up in a wad or crumpled in the bottom of their purse.
